Mobile Deposit FAQs

If you are using Internet Banking and our Mobile Banking app, you already have what you need to get started.  You should see the Deposit option at the bottom of your screen.  If you are not already signed up for Internet Banking, click on Enroll to the left to complete the Enrollment Form.

How do I get Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit is available through the First United National Bank Mobile app by accepting the Mobile Deposit Terms and Conditions.  If you already have our app, you already have Mobile Deposit!  Just click on the Deposit tab at the bottom of your screen.

Who's eligible to use the Mobile Deposit service?

First United National Bank customers who maintain an eligible checking or savings account, and who have accepted the Mobile Deposit Terms and Conditions are eligible to use Mobile Deposit.

Do I need an Internet Banking account to use Mobile Deposit?

Yes.  Mobile Banking uses the same settings as Internet Banking.  So you will need to register your accounts in Internet Banking and set your user ID and password.  If you are not already signed up for Internet Banking, click on Enroll to the left to complete the Enrollment Form.

Are there fees for using Mobile Deposit?

There are currently no fees for First United National Bank's Mobile Deposit service.  Please check with your wireless provider about carrier and web access charges.

How does Mobile Deposit Work?

Sign onto your First United National Bank mobile app, then follow these simple steps:

- Tap "Deposit."
- Tap "Deposit Check."
- Tap the Account you want to deposit into.
- Tap "Amount" and enter the amount of the check.  Amount must be under $1,000.
- Tap "Front Image" - frame the check in the four corners and "Snap" a photo.  The app will verify quality  of the image before accepting the picture.
- Tap "Back Image" - frame the check in the four corners and "Snap" a photo.  The app will verify there is an endorsement and quality of the image before accepting the picture.
- Tap "Next."
- On the Confirmation screen, verify the information and tap "Confirm." 

How do I endorse the check for deposit?

Important:  For your protection, your signature and Mobile Deposit Endorsement are required on the back of the check before you make your deposit.  Just flip it over and write:

(Your Signature)
For Mobile Deposit Only
To Account # (Your Account Number)

If the above endorsement is not on the item, it will be rejected for deposit.

What types of checks can I deposit?

You can deposit checks payable in U.S. dollars and drawn at any U.S. bank, including personal, business, and most government checks.   They must also be payable to, and endorsed by the account holder.

International checks, U.S. savings bonds, U.S. postal money orders, MoneyGram, remotely created checks (whether in paper form or electronically created), convenience checks (checks drawn against a line of credit), and cash are some of the items that are not eligible for Mobile Deposit.

When will my Mobile Deposit be available?

In general, if an image of an item you transmit through the Service is received and accepted before 4 pm ET on a business day that we are open, we consider that day to be the day of your deposit.  Otherwise, we will consider that the deposit was made on the next business day we are open.  Funds deposited using the Service will generally be made available no later than two business days from the day of deposit.  However, First United National Bank reserves the right to place a hold on any Mobile Deposit for any reason and for an unlimited number of days.  If this happens, you will be notified in writing through U.S. Postal Mail.

Is there a limit on how much money I can deposit using the app?

Yes, the item and daily dollar limit for Mobile Deposits is $1,000 per business day.

What should I do with my paper check after using Mobile Deposit?

After depositing your check using Mobile Deposit, please follow these best practice guidelines:

1.  Write "Mobile Deposit on" and the Date on the front of your check.  The date should be the month, day, and year of your deposit.
2.  Securely store your check for 30 days after your deposit or until your next statement, and then destroy it.  This allows sufficient time for you to verify the deposit to your statement.
